SOUND COMPARISON TEST

First, the main focus is to start with a local DJ Service using the Bose L1 System but I would like to invite  up to two other DJ Services using a Sound System that they are proud of be it EAW, JBL, Yamaha, etc. speaker system because in the reception room we will have four walls with the judges and microphone metering systems in the center of the room.  So, are there any other DJ Services interested in going head to head with Bose?  Besides the judges present for the testing the little experiment will be video taped for possible up loading onto You Tube for the world weigh in on.

Contact me first please by email with your website & contact information: bruce@ogtdj.com  this testing session is for active Mobile DJ Services in the Orlando area.

Bose L1 Sound System, sorry I do not have any pictures of them being used by a DJ Service but I've heard them several times and I can echo the review of a veteran musician shown below.  Yes, there are plenty of positive reviews repeating sometimes line for line the advertising claims of the Bose Corporation, many DJ Services using them simply copy & paste the Bose advertisements.

Bose Corporation publishes very few specifications in comparison to other speaker companies, Guitar Center does not position the Bose to demonstrate them along side others.  It isn't any wonder when you find out that Bose uses a pair of 5 1/4" Woofers in it's Subs, lol, my first car in High School had more than that.  Any DJ Service in the Orlando area using the Bose System up for a sound demonstration against my EV Sx500+?, judges would be local Professional Sound Engineers.  To achieve the amount of sound the Bose Speakers project is accomplished with a great deal of filtering & processing verses very little in comparison with my EV, purer, cleaner sound? You Be The Judge.  In my opinion, and I own some Home Theater Bose Speakers, not a Bose Hater lol, I feel they are well suited when space is limited but again I'd love to find out how the Bose L1 System would compare to my system.  I can't list their names here but if you happen to speak with ANY of the Sound Professionals at Guitar Center, Sam Ash, Discount Music they will agree with the majority of the opinions of the Musician below from Ohio & Mobile DJ Owner from Pennsylvania that the Bose L1 Sound System is not well suited as a main front sound system in medium to larger venues.

I heard them for a large event over in the atrium of the Gaylord Palms and I can remember a Photographer asking "what did the DJ just say?" and the group of about six of us had no clue.  I vividly remember the sound of feedback as the DJ tried to adjust the volume up to cover the room and even commented a loud jokingly about his feedback issues.  Personally, I wouldn't draw even more attention to my sound difficulties.

RATING: Four stars because of its intrinsic limitations. It cannot be a system for a larger venue for 150-200 or more people, but it can be your answer for smaller venues and smaller crowds.
For what it is, though, it is Super!  Les Holliday "Mobile DJ Service Owner" Bethel Park, PA USA  Read his full review on Amazon.com

I have played in rock bands for 35 years. Typically, our indoor venues house an average of 500 patrons. Currently, our rock band is struggling with the lack of punch delivered by the Bose system. We are a three piece rock band. Each player utilizes a Bose L1. The bass player and drummer each have four Bose subs. I play Roland V-Pro TD 20's and struggle to get a solid drum sound. The Bose L1 works well with vocals and guitars...poorly with bass guitar and drums. We have used EAW Speakers to supplement the "punch" required for a good rock sound. The EAW's are powered by Crown Macrotech amplifiers. We have invested quite a bit of money in our Bose systems to use them as monitors. The Bose system has performed well in a guitar soloist/vocal venue. Don't use them for front of house PA for a rock band in a medium sized indoor venue or outdoor venues.

Again, local DJ Services using Bose L1 System lets have a friendly testing of your speakers against my EV's using local Sound Engineers that are Instructors/Musicians as the Testers.

The venue would be a hotel near Celebration with a very easy load in and the timing would have to be early evening on a weekday is about it for requirements.
